Excuses

Sorry I was one of those. You know the type. A yay-let's-start-a-blog-just-kidding-I'll-abandon-it!er. Rookie mistake.

(Except not so rookie because this is about my fourth attempt at having a blog.)
 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So, I still get the Mtendere blues from time to time, but I have actually done more than just wallow this summer. I'll create a handy little chart to break down the action for you.

Handy Little Chart to Break Down the Action
  • Graduation

  • Hanging out with all my siblings

  • The Illusion of a Pit of Despair because I had no obligations/expectations/people to play with because everyone else has obligations/expectations
    • Featuring:
      • Pressure washing the exterior of the house
      • Cleaning out/reorganizing the refrigerator (complete with handy leftovers shelf to be cleared out each week!)
      • Cleaning out the deep freezer (we're looking at you, mystery package from 2006)
      • Putting up a pool
      • Cleaning out 1/36th of the two car garage currently holding zero cars because of so much everything
      • Reshelving all my books according to subject matter
      • Working on cooking real food on a regular basis
      • Weeding the lawn (+15 points for that dark day the lawnmower was out of commission and I actually resorted to trimming some of the grass with scissors. you can accomplish a lot in an 8 hour day, folks.)
      • And a fan favorite--alphabetizing the spice cabinet!

  • Actual Pit of Despair
    • Featuring:
      • Not being a productive member of society
      • Sneakily watching a primetime soap opera set in a hospital/location of any kind of disaster while despising myself for not being able to quit
The summer was also full of moving--repacking my stuff and moving it to a storage unit, helping my sister's family pack and move, helping move my brother home as he prepares to move to South Canada/Minnesota, and even going to Florida for a few weeks to help clean out part of Grandma's house as she prepares to move sometime soon-ish.

I've been home for a week or two now. I'm getting busier working on paperwork and reading for my tentative plans for at least the next little bit of life, but as none of that is set in stone yet, we'll hold our horses on that one. Hopefully soon I'll write more about what's next. Until then, I'm free from the bondage of horrible TV and, Lord willing, staying busy with more beneficial things.
